I’ve previously enjoyed The Awkward Yeti’s cartoons online. I do like the ‘main characters’ of Heart and Brain, but after a while it feels like the strips in this collection are a rehash of their established personas, without bringing anything particularly new. The wider crop of characters brings variety and I would have liked to see a bit more of those ideas throughout the book. These are not always the sort of cartoons that make you laugh out loud, but instead can amuse and make you think – a bit like Peanuts. I hope to see some more of the other characters in the future.
Thank you to NetGalley and Andrews McMeel Publishing for the ARC of Heart and Brain.
