Book musings

18 books I cannot wait to read in 2018!

Following my Top 17 of ’17 and a fabulous year for reading, here are some of the books I am most looking forward to reading in 2018: a prospective Top 18 of ’18! I have again been lucky enough to be granted some amazing looking ARCs and I am also looking forward to new books from some of my favourite authors.

I cannot wait…because of their blurb:

The Woman in the Window by A.J. Finn

Like an updated version of my favourite film, Rear Window, with psychological overtones and a possibly-unreliable female lead? Yes please!

The Seven Deaths of Evelyn Hardcastle by Stuart Turton

While we’re on the subject of re-imaginings, a classic country house Agatha Christie meets the television series Quantum Leap?? Again: yes!

One Of Us Is Lying by Karen M McManus

Described as a cross between the film The Breakfast Club and the television show Pretty Little Liars, this Young Adult mystery thriller sounds right up my street.

51onrjtxbjl-_ac_us218_The Craftsman by Sharon Bolton

I love Sharon Bolton’s books and am sure that The Craftsman will be no exception! It sounds creepy, mysterious, thrilling…and totally terrifying!

Hangman coverHangman by Daniel Cole

How could I not want to read the follow-up to one of my favourite books of 2017! I can’t wait to see what Fawkes, Baxter and Edmunds have been up to since Ragdoll.

I cannot wait…because of their buzz:

51txdz9nnul-_ac_us218_My Little Eye (Starke & Bell) by Stephanie Marland

This original serial killer premise, combining police procedural and amateur sleuth, has received consistently positive reviews since its release towards the end of 2017.

The Chalk Man by C. J. Tudor

I was drawn to this by its stark cover and encouraged by the amazing reviews. I’m looking forward to being thoroughly creeped out during the dark winter nights!

41alswzs2el-_ac_us218_Exquisite by Sarah Stovell

I’ve been reading great things about this psychological thriller for some time now and definitely need to bump it up my TBR pile during 2018.

51zofqp68fl-_ac_us218_The Wife Between Us by Greer Hendricks & Sarah Pekkanen

“When you read this book, you will make many assumptions…you will be wrong” reminds me of Behind Her Eyes, which I loved; it sounds twisty and the reviews have been fantastic.

51cwqtk9ml-_ac_us218_The Confession by Jo Spain

This is another book with an intriguing, original-sounding concept that has been receiving rave reviews. I’m looking forward to finding out whydunnit!

I cannot wait…because I am late to the party:

All of the following have been out for a while and/or are the start of a popular series that I really want to get on to reading in 2018.

Here’s to a wonderful, bookish 2018!
