Saving Sophie by Sam Carrington
My rating: 3 of 5 stars
This book had an original premise and was overall an intriguing read; I’d be keen to read more from Sam Carrington. I found the character of Sophie to be a believable teenager and that of her mother Karen to be very sympathetic. The story gets off to a bang, develops a good mystery and has a roller coaster ending, with quite an increase in action.
I must admit though that there were a couple of chapters – particularly those focusing on the police – that dragged a little, and then the final third seemed to throw in a lot of new information and, as a result, felt a bit rushed. That said, it kept me turning the pages, I wanted to know what happened and I liked the way the story came together at the end.
Thank you to NetGalley, Sam Carrington and HarperCollins UK, Avon for providing an ARC of Saving Sophie.
